Whalers suspensions after gongshow in Danbury 2/2/12

#44 Kelley Miller given Spearing misconduct, Abuse of Official misconduct, and a tier 1 Gross Misconduct, suspended for 13 games for the remainder of the season.

#15 Corey Fulton given a Slashing major and a Slashing disqualification and will be suspended for 10 games.

#14 Andrew Willock given a Slashing major and a Slashing game misconduct suspended 1 game

#19 Greg Holt given elbowing major and elbowing disqualification suspended for 3 games.

Coach Phil Esposito given abuse of officials bench minor, suspended for 5 games

  1. Should be a new rule put in place. You touch an Official suspended for the remainder of the season. You can't have these GOONS thinking that they can get away with manhandling any Official. Put this in place for next season and this rule will end this kind of play!

    1. Problem was that the above penalties do not reflect the actual actions.No blatant hits to the officials occurred. For example, Espo's appeared to come from his complaints about the officiating.....which was horrendous to say the least....the worst I have seen in my life. Danbury breakaway's stopped by tripping and not called, major penalties for tough play at the center, bad off side calls....you name it, the calls were blown.......mostly by the ref. This type of situation results from poor reffing and the frustration that occurs.

  2. It's becoming the norm in this league. They've even switch to two referees and it's not helped any
