Brooklyn Aviators shot down in Hanger #5 by Danbury!

As Danbury came to Hanger #5 the Aviator fans had no doubt of the outcome, the Whalers were going to be sent down to Davy Jones locker again. Well as they say the best plans of mice and men can often turn to worms and it did.

It wasn't the shooting of the Aviators that was off its mark. It was the wall that Danbury built in front of the goal named #29G P.Vetri. He played as if he was possessed and had the moves and hands of a cat last night. I think it may have been something in the Brooklyn water that made him play this way.

Danbury drew first blood in the first period at the 8:53 mark. #7C M.Caranci while having three Aviators on him did a wrap around and push the puck in by the stick of #38G J.St. Pierre of the Aviators. This made the match 1-0 in favor of the Danbury Whalers.

This was all the scoring in the first period and it was a clean game. Only three penalties in that period, two for Brooklyn and one for Danbury. No majors they were all minors.

Brooklyn fans still had no worries as a one goal lead means nothing at this stage of the game. The second period will be ours. The second period saw another show by #29G P.Vetri, the kind of show that Brooklyn fans really didn't want to witness.

It was a pretty even skating match but the shooting was all Aviators. Seems as if Brooklyn couldn't even buy a goal if they had that chance. The door was shut once again and the A's were starting to get frustrated. #17C A.Kirschner found the back of the Brooklyn net at the 11:45 mark of the second.

The second period ended with Danbury leading by the score of 2-0. Another clean period with just five penalties, two for Brooklyn and three for Danbury. No majors, only minors so far. The Brooklyn fans were starting to get a little nervous at this time but still kept the faith for a come back.

Third period will belong to Brooklyn! Well maybe the next time they meet. In the third Danbury still had the door locked and Brooklyn didn't have the right key. #14RW A.J.Willock found goal for Danbury at the 11:27 mark and you could hear the air being let out of the Brooklyn fans. This made the score 3-0 Danbury.

A glimmer of hope for Brooklyn when #18C J.Dolgy hit the Danbury gate and it opened up at last. A little too late, but Brooklyn saved itself from a shut out. The A's fans were happy that we didn't get shut out, can you say "Save Face?"

The match ended 3-1 Danbury, this was a good skating and great goalie game for sure. Only one penalty in the third and it was Danbury's.

Power plays factored into the loss for the Aviators. They were 0-5 and Danbury had 1-4.

Penalties: Danbury 10 minutes on 5 penalties. Brooklyn had 8 minutes for 4 penalties.

ARE YOU READY FOR THIS, YOU MAY NOR BELIEVE IT!

SHOTS ON GOAL: DANBURY HAD 24 & BROOKLYN AVIATORS HAD 43
