Aviators Bomb Whalers 7-1

The Whalers rowed into town Friday night and were surprised by the super sharp Harpoons that they found waiting for them in Brooklyn. This was the last time they would play in the regular season and the A's wanted to make a statement to the team that they will be facing in the playoffs.

FIRST PERIOD found Brooklyn scoring first with 5:13 off the clock on a powerplay goal by #9RW N.Petriello. #23 RW A.Scampoli and #18C J.Dolgy earned the assist. Score was 1-0 at this time.

The second harpoon found its target by #8LW S.Koich with an assist from #2RW M.Thomson.The score was 2-0 and Brooklyn fans were loving it!

SECOND PERIOD was all Brooklyn's, with three more unanswered markers by the flying high Aviators. #14C J.Dabkowski with aid from #27RW C.Mignone and #11C A.Owsiak. The second marker was a powerplay which #2RW M.Thomson took advantage of. On this score #20C J. Felten and #17 D K.Trentowski earned an assist. This made it a 4-0 Brooklyn lead and the fans were rocking and rolling, the smell of blood was in the water!

Surprise the next score was once again on a powerplay. #2RW M.Thomson on still another powerplay sank the fifth harpoon into the wounded beast. Mates #17D K.Trentowski and #7C C.Campanale were on deck and lent a hand to the fifth harpoon attack! 5-0 Brooklyn at the end of two.

THIRD PERIOD and the wounded beast still wouldn't go down with out a fight. For the third time tonight #2RW M.Thomson planted his third harpoon into the dying giant of the sea. Fellow Aviators #7C C.Campanale and #16D H.Coxe earned an assist for this play. Match is now Brooklyn 6-0 and the fans are waiting to see when the big Whale will roll over and play dead?

Brooklyn Aviators sweep the Danville Dashers this weekend with a 4-2 Victory in their Second Match!

Second game of the weekend stand in Danville and it looks like it might be brawl instead of an FHL hockey game. Last nights game ended with bad blood on both sides and you knew that this was going to be continued in today's game. It didn't help that Brooklyn took the match last night by a score of 8-1.

FIRST PERIOD with only 3:23 of the clock saw #10C L.Schott and #7C J.Brooks get into it and they each received a 5 minute major fighting penalty for their efforts. How about a little hockey please?

Round two with just 6:04 off the clock we saw #12C M.Atsoff of Brooklyn and Danvilles #14RW C.Affinati have an a disagreement. Surprise, Fighting Major, Fighting Game Misconduct and an Instigator. Now can we please have a little hockey?

At the 14:44 mark #16D H.Coxe aided by #20C J.Felten score for the Aviators. 1-0 Brooklyn at this time. #23RW A.Scampoli scored on a powerplay with the help of #20C J.Felten and #9RW N.Petriello at the 12:25 mark. So far so good, hockey at last. 2-0 Brooklyn Aviators now.

Danville answered with a score with 3:42 left in the first period on a powerplay, #17RW B.Hunt scored and #89LW H.Kobayashi and #9D J.Pace earned assists. This made the match 2-1 Brooklyn Aviators and that is how the first period ended.

SECOND PERIOD slowed down to a real hockey game and saw Brooklyn score the only point in this period. #2RW M.Thomson hit the Dashers net with assists from #10C L.Schott and #7C C.Campanale. 3-1 Brooklyn at the end of two.

THIRD PERIOD the main event! #11C A.Owsiak with help from #20C J.Felten & #9RW N.Petriello made the match 4-1 Brooklyn at the 13:39 mark. The Dashers answered with a short handed goal at the 7:11 mark by #10D R.Schweyer with #52LW R.Tremblay & #15RW L.McClure for assists to make the game 4-2 Brooklyn Aviators. This is how the game ended and Brooklyn swept the Dashers this weekend.

With 5:08 left in the third all hell broke loose. We had six players going at it at one time and it wasn't a pretty picture at all. Three from each team and what a site! The players who saw action for the Dashers were #10D R.Schweyer, #3D R.Huggett and #9D J.Pace. Brooklyn's players involved in the melee were #3D D.Osborne, #8LW S.Koich and #10C L.Schott.

#10C L.Schott also received a four game suspension for his efforts. This will keep him out of the last remaining games but he will be available for the playoffs.

Brooklyn better get on the stick and make a vast improvement in their ability to score on poweplays, the playoffs are just around the corner.

Aviators Shoot down Dashers 8-3 in Danville, IL.

February 25,2012

It was raining in Danville last night but it wasn't rain, it was raining Brooklyn Goals. Seems as if the Aviators have kicked their dry spell and they are now in their rainy season of goals. Brooklyn fans are glad that their team has found its gel and putting points on the board.

FIRST PERIOD action and it was a scary start for the Aviators. #15RW L.McClure with help from #46C C.Townsend & #8C R.Stern with only 39 seconds off the clock made their mark. It was a long shot from the blue line that #31G M.DiLorenzo didn't see and it found its mark.

The A's said no goal and the lights came on rather fast and I think the official went with the goal judge on this score. The A's weren't happy but so be it. Dashers had the lead at this point in time 1-0.

Brooklyn matched the score with 9:18 off the clock with a #20C J.Felten score with an assist from #9RW N.Petriello, 1-1 tie. Aviators Center #18 J.Dolgy hit the net with aid from #7C C.Campanale & #2RW M.Thomson with 17:53 off the clock to make it a 2-1 Brooklyn lead. This is how the second period ended 2-1 Aviators. Close game still at this time, it could go either way.

SECOND PERIOD saw the Aviators score three more times and the Dashers made their mark twice. First to find goal was the Dashers #14C C.Affinati with #18F J.Barr earning an assist. This made the match 2-2, still a close game. Brooklyn came back and scored the next two goals. #12C M.Atsoff with #2RW M.Thomson & #31G M.DiLorenzo earned assists. Match was 3-2 Aviators.

The second was #20C J.Felten with aid from #3D D.Osborne & #23RW A.Scampoli. Game score 4-2 Aviators at this time. The Dashers returned the favor at the 11:55 mark when #7C J.Brooks found Brooklyn goal. #3D R.Huggett & #18F J.Barr were in on the assist. This made the match 4-3.

The clock showing 12:18 off the second period is when Brooklyn's #8LW S.Koich made the score 5-3. He was aided by #14C J.Dabkowski & #27RW C.Mignone. Game starting to slip away from the Dashers.

THIRD PERIOD was all Brooklyn's the Aviators hit three more times to seal the faith of the Dashers. #11C A.Owsiak with help from #20C J.Felten & #6D N.Wheeler made the match 6-3 with 1:09 off the clock.

The second score for Brooklyn that earned #20C J.Felten a HAT TRICK was at the 17:07 mark of the third. He was aided by #23RW A.Scampoli & #18C J.Dolgy, this made the match 7-3 Brooklyn.

The last but not the least score was  on an unassisted goal by #18C J.Dolgy of the Aviators. The game ended 8-3 and Brooklyn was very happy with its showing and so were the Brooklyn fans.

SHOTS ON GOAL: BROOKLYN 38  DANVILLE 27

POWER PLAYS: BROOKLYN 3 FOR 8  DANVILLE 0 FOR 3

Brooklyn Aviators Shoot Down the Akwesasne Warriors by a score of 7-1

February 23,2012 @ Hanger #5 Brooklyn, New York

FIRST PERIOD action saw the Brooklyn Aviators shoot the puck past #79G A.Vincent three times in this period. It's hard to believe that this was the same #79G A.Vincent who played in the last two games as goalie for Akwesasne and held us down to only a few goals. The Warriors took the two matches on their home ice.

Skating was brisk and it was about time that Brooklyn was able to find pay dirt for their efforts. #18C J.Dolgy was first to beat #79G A.Vincent at the 12:40 mark with assists from #8LW S.Koich & #23RW A.Scampoli. Number two was put in the net by Aviator #2RW M.Thomson with help from #23RW A.Scampoli & #7C C.Campanale, this was at the 7:22 mark.

The third Aviators score came at the 2:45 mark by #12C M.Atsoff with assists by #7C C.Campanale & #2RW M.Thomson. The fans were feeling as if the curse that was on the A's was going to get lifted and a flood of way overdue scores collected tonight at the Warriors expense. There was only one penalty in the first period and it was awarded to Brooklyn. The score was 3-0 A's at the end of the first.

SECOND PERIOD found Brooklyn striking again with only 33 seconds off the clock, #14C J.Dabkowski hit the back of  the net with help from #12C M.Atsoff  & #17D K.Trentowski. This made the score 4-0 Brooklyn. Once again Brooklyn hit goal at the 14:02 mark of the match. #2RW M.Thomson for his second score of the night, with help from #12C M.Atsoff and #23RW A.Scampoli. This made the match 4-0 in favor of Brooklyn.

The Warriors made their one and only score of the game with 6:39 left in the second period. #14LW M.Beaulne beat A's netminder with assistance from #26RW P.Dagenais & #8D K.McCarthy. This made the match 5-1 Brooklyn at the end of the second period.

THIRD PERIOD and the Aviator fans wanted more goals for sweet revenge for their two loses up at Akwesasne last weekend. Brooklyn's #9RW N.Petriello scored at the 12:53 mark with an assist fro #23RW A.Scampoli. The match was now 6-1 in favor of the A's.

#18C J.Dolgy made his second score of the night with aid from #20C J.Felten and #9RW N.Petriello with 3:17 left in the game. This made the score 7-1 Brooklyn and that is how the match ended. #31G M.DiLorenzo played goalie for Brooklyn, great job Mike.

Aviators Shot Down by Akwesasne in the 3rd. Period!

FIRST PERIOD was looking good for Brooklyn. First air strike for the A's was by #9RW N.Petriello at the 10:42 mark. He walked in and found the back of the net to make the match 1-0 Brooklyn. He was assisted by #27RW C.Mignone and #8LW S.Koich.

The second bomb run came by #8LW S.Koich right in front of #79G A.Vincent in the Warriors net. #8LW S.Koich was about 30 feet out in front and blasted it in right on target. This was at the 15:15 of the first and that is how the period ended. #9RE N.Petriello and #18C J.Dolgy were credited with assists.

SECOND PERIOD action was started by the Warriors #17C N.Corbeil who found Aviator goal with 9:48 left in the second period. Assists on the play were awarded to #26RW P.Dagenais and #91C S.Deschatelets. This made the match 2-1 in favor of the Brooklyn Aviators.

The Aviators took their third bombing run at the 17:38 mark of the second period. #12C M.Atsoff hit pay dirt with assists from #8LW S.Koich and #27RW C. Mignone to make the score 3-1 Brooklyn. This is how the second period ended.

THIRD PERIOD and the Brooklyn fans were feeling pretty good about the match. To the Aviators surprise the Warriors brought out their anti-aircraft guns and blasted away at Brooklyn. They shot more holes in the A's than a piece of swiss cheese, it wasn't a pretty picture!

First for the Warriors was #10C D.Tessier who had a power play goal at the 10:16 mark, assisted by #26RW P.Dagenais and #91C S.Deschatelets. This made the match 3-2 Brooklyn.

Next for the warriors it was #26RW P.Dagenais at the 11:50 mark. He was aided by fellow teammates #17C N.Corbeil and #3D C.Trevisani. This score tied the game at 3-3 and Brooklyn fans were shaking their heads, say it isn't so?

The Coue de Gaur came at the 15:57 mark of the third. #8F J.Forget shot the wings off the Aviators with assists from #23D J.St Louis and #27D S.Desormeaux and sent them crashing in flames. The finale score was Akwesasne Warriors 4 and the Brooklyn Aviators 3. Don't know if I have the correct spelling (Coue De Gaur) but I think you will get my drift.

The two teams meet again tomorrow at 7PM up in Akwesasne. Should be another great game.

SHOTS OF GOAL: BROOKLYN 50     AKWESASNE 43

POWER PLAYS: BROOKLYN 0-4     AKWESASNE 1-3

Brooklyn Aviators corral the N.J. Outlaws by a score of 3-2 at the Capital One Ice Vault.

First Period action saw the Aviators draw the first blood of the game. #10C L.Schott found Outlaw Goal at the 33 second mark of the first period. #2RW M.Thomson and #11C A.Owsiak had the assist for Brooklyn.

The second score for the Aviators still in the first period was by #11C A.Owsiak at the 13:39 mark. The assists were by #27RW C.Mignone and #16D H.Coxe of the A's. This made the game 2-0 in favor of the Brooklyn Aviators and this is how the first period ended.

As the second period started the Aviator fans smelt blood in the water and were ready to continue the attack on the Outlaws. Guess what? This was not to be, another scary period for the Brooklyn crowd. It seemed as if the Outlaws had their vitamins during the break and were skating like a first place team.

The Outlaws held up Brooklyn at the 15:10 mark of the second period by #11F K.Cooper. #16C J.Reese and #22F M.Puntureri earned the assists. This brought the outlaws closer, making the score 2-1 still in favor of Brooklyn. Brooklyn fans were still happy with the score.

Bad news again for Brooklyn, the Outlaws scored again in the second period. #5D G.Zollars found the back of the Brooklyn net at the 9:15 mark, still in the second. #81RW B.Liscomb and #10RW A.Battaglia received the assists for NJ.  This tied the match at 2-2 and the Brooklyn fans saw the lead slipping down the toilet once again.

Third Period action was slow and Brooklyn fans were thinking about a shoot out again. Last time we did we lost to NJ and the Brooklyn fans remembered it for sure.

Brooklyn banged home the winner at the 11:51 mark of the third. #9RW N.Petriello found netting with assists by #23RW A.Scampoli. This win was a giant confidence builder for the Aviators who are looking forward to the playoffs. This was only the second home lost for the Outlaws this season.

Danbury Whalers sunk by 9 HARPOONS planted into them by the Brooklyn Aviators, 9-2.

It was raining last night in Danbury but it wasn't rain this time, it was raining hockey pucks by the buckets full. Seems as if Danbury left their umbrella's at home and ended up soaked.

I'll give you the scoring by each period but forget the penalties, I would need 3 or 4 pages just for them alone. It was like watching a street hockey game with no rules. The Whalers have nothing over the BlueFins for sure, last night they were the champs of cheap shots.

First Period scoring was as follows: Aviators #7C Watson at 1:42, Aviators 20C Felten at the 3:52 mark and Aviators #7C Watson his second on a power play at 7:08. This is how the the first period ended 3-0 Brooklyn.

Second Period scoring as follow: Brooklyn's #20C Felten on a power play and that was all the scoring for that period. Second period ended with Brooklyn having the advantage 4-0. There was almost a hockey game during the second period, who knew?

Third Period scoring: Whaler's #83C Seifert at the 2:21 mark to make the game 4-1 Brooklyn. Aviators #7C Watson scored on a power play goal at the 10:53 mark giving him his HAT TRICK! Aviators #9RW Petriello at the 11:11 mark scored making it 6-1 in favor of the Aviators.

Akwesasne get blown away by 8-3 bombing attack from Brooklyn!

As we filed onto Hanger #5 at the Aviators Sports and Events Center we had confidence in our Brooklyn Aviators. We are riding a winning streak and we seem to have good results when we do battle with the Warriors. The fans were ready for the action to come and the Aviators were ready too!

FIRST PERIOD action saw the Aviators bombing the Warriors on POWER PLAYS and this is what set up the Warriors for their loss. L.Schott #10C who is playing very well for Brooklyn found the net behind A. Thompson #27G to make it 1-0 at the 7:50 mark of the first period. This was a a POWER PLAY goal for Brooklyn.

C. Mignone #27RW snuck the puck in with 5:15 left in the first period to make the score 2-0 in favor of Brooklyn. So far it is a clean game and the skating is looking good. Goalie A. Thompson #27G was yanked and D. Plouffe #79G was put in the front lines to face the Aviators attack.

Once again the ugly head of the POWER PLAY rose again for Akwesasne giving Brooklyn a man up again. L. Schott #10C netted his second POWER PLAY score in the first period to make it 3-0 Brooklyn at the 15:53 mark of the first. The first period ended 3-0 for the Aviators and the fans were having a great time at the expense of the Warriors.

SECOND PERIOD action found P. Dagenias #26RW for the Warriors who found goal at the 1:26 of the second period to make the match 3-1 in favor of Brooklyn. Guess who found net again in the second period at the 3:14 minute mark, you got it P.Dagenias #26RW. I guess that the NHL pays off when you play in the FHL, you think? This made the score 3-2 still in favor of Brooklyn.

The fans were getting a bit shaky at this point seeing the Warriors making such a fast come back. Could we lose our lead this fast and not answer the Warriors, let's hope not? N. Petriello #9RW of the Aviators found the Warriors net at the 3:37 mark which made the match 4-2 Brooklyn.

Once again the POWER PLAYS for the Aviators sent the Warriors packing their gear and warming up the bus. J. Felten #20C on a power play for Brooklyn hit the net at the 16:29 mark making it 5-2 in favor of the Aviators. Can you say another POWER PLAY goal for Brooklyn by H. Coxe at the 16:56 mark, score update.... Brooklyn 6 and Akwesasne 2.

THIRD PERIOD wasn't that bad for the Warriors but penalties were going to bite them in the butt again! It appears as if the Warriors have a learning problem and can't stay out of the sin bin. The Warriors found the Aviators net at the 9:10 mark by Van Hoot #15D who shot the puck pass J. Pierre #38G, score is now 6-3 Brooklyn.

Here come the POWER PLAYS again, getting old isn't it? C. Mignone #27RW hit the back of the net at the 14:14 mark on still another POWER PLAY. It's almost enough to make a grown man cry, that's if you were rooting for Akwesasne. Score in now 7-3 Brooklyn, one more time.

How about one more POWER PLAY goal for Brooklyn? K. Trentowski #17D at 15:07 bingo, score. This made the match 8-3 Brooklyn and this is how the game ended. Going to be a long bus ride back home for Akwesasne.

See the numbers that did the Akwesasne Warriors in: 21 Penalties for a total of 101 minutes while Brooklyn had 11 Penalties for a mere 39 minutes.

Power plays: Akwesasne 0 for 2 and Brooklyn 6 for 10.

Tomorrow we go up to Danbury and I'll be there to let you know how the game goes from a Aviators fan point of view.
